After the vehicle body components enter the welding workshop and are processed individually along their respective lines, they are all transported to the main welding line for final assembly.
Today, let’s talk about what exactly goes on in the welding assembly workshop. The image below shows a corner of the welding production line.

The car doors, left and right side panels, hood, front and rear floor panels, roof panel, tailgate, and various small components are all stamped parts that come directly from the stamping workshop. Then, the welding workshop takes charge of joining these pieces together to form the vehicle body. Beyond that, there are also steps like applying adhesive and edge-trimming the doors—though we won’t go into detail about those here.

The stamped parts produced through the stamping process cannot be directly used for welding—they must first undergo processing in the welding workshop. Additionally, certain detailed areas require manual welding to complete. Therefore, the welding assembly line is divided into sections including the side panel area, front cabin floor, rear floor, main welding line, re-welding line, and final vehicle assembly line.

After the vehicle body components enter the welding assembly workshop and are processed individually along their respective lines, they are all transported to the main welding line for final assembly. Typically, transportation is handled by EMS conveyor carts located on the second floor of the workshop. Once processing is complete at each sub-line, the components are lifted via elevators to the second-floor carts, which then carry them directly to the main welding line.

As shown in the figure below, this is the overall process diagram:

The sight of the main welding line is truly spectacular—first, the front and rear floor panels are joined to form the complete floor assembly, followed by the left and right side panels, and then the roof panel.

As shown in the figure below, this is the main welding diagram:

After the main welding line, the process moves to the re-welding line and then the body adjustment line. Once components like the car doors and hood are installed, the welding assembly process is complete. Next, the well-welded white body will be sent to the painting workshop for paint application.
