China's first 3D-printed "Tuhao Gold" concept car unveiled

On March 24, China's first 3D-printed concept car was unveiled in Sanya, Hainan. Reportedly, the concept vehicle was developed and engineered by Sanya Sihai 3D Technology Co., Ltd. Its "Tuhao Gold"-colored body is partially made using composite material 3D printing, weighing approximately 500 kilograms, while the rest consists of assembled components. The car is powered by electricity. From design to final assembly, the entire process took just one month, with the 3D-printing phase alone consuming only 5 days.

It is understood that the successful prototype of the 3D-printed concept car marks the entry of the second-generation EFDM large-scale 3D printer into the practical application phase. In the future, this technology is expected to be widely used in areas such as large-scale equipment casting mold development, outdoor sculptures, advertising decorations, educational models, and more—demonstrating strong market potential while filling several domestic technological gaps.
